Barbórka Celebrations
Target
To develop a creative concept for celebrating Barbórka (Miners’ Day), including space arrangement and a detailed event schedule. The aim was to design entertainment elements that highlight the unique spirit of the occasion.
Event components
We broke away from the traditional formula of Barbórka celebrations by introducing a winter-themed setting enhanced with spectacular shows. This combination helped us create a unique and atmospheric evening.
The highlight of the event was a light & sound show, which reinforced the avant-garde character of the celebration. At the same time, we made sure to include essential, time-honored elements that are integral to every Barbórka celebration.
The event began with a performance by a miners’ orchestra, playing the traditional miners’ anthem. We also preserved the classic “Karczma Piwna” (Beer Hall Feast) layout, with miners seated at long communal tables. The program was enriched with an ice carving show, along with traditional songs and chants performed throughout the evening.
Results obtained
This year’s Barbórka proved that blending tradition with modernity can be highly effective. The innovative format captured the guests’ attention, while preserving key customs allowed us to maintain the authentic spirit of the holiday.
