Will Employee Engagement Programs Find Their Place Beyond Sales?
For several years now, we have been continuously collaborating with HEINEKEN Kraków. Together, we organize all events, constantly surprising with new ideas. Thanks to our commitment to this relationship and the openness of the organization itself, we get to know each other better and propose further interesting solutions that enrich the HEINEKEN Kraków brand in terms of employer branding.
As a result, we started working on a year-long employee engagement program focused on safety and health. This is an innovative program motivating employees to deepen their knowledge, change their attitudes and behaviors, and gain new experiences. The HandS-on program, as it is called, was created in line with the Life Safety Rules policy promoted by HEINEKEN worldwide. The program primarily consists of event activities, promotion on social media, a specially created website, and an integrated platform that allows participants to log in and compete in safety and health topics. You can read more about engagement programs on our blog.
At the Kraków outsourcing center, we focused on office safety elements, and especially on road safety. Preventive actions in this area are extremely important to minimize accidents on the way “to” and “from” work. In large cities, most accidents occur between 4 and 5 PM, when most employees return home, involving not only cars but also pedestrians and cyclists. More facts and real-life situations were shared by Krzysztof Burdak, Head of the Road Traffic Department at the Kraków City Police Headquarters. Another important aspect we focused on was first aid and the use of a defibrillator, which HEINEKEN purchased for the entire office building and, consequently, all companies located in the Vinci building. We also arranged an evacuation from a smoke-filled room and a demonstration of how to extinguish a “controlled” fire using a fire extinguisher. During evacuation and extreme situations, communication becomes the biggest challenge, so we ensured training on communication under stress. All these elements were included in the organization of the first event under the HandS-on Program — during HandS Day. The event was preceded by a promotion campaign, where animators initiated conversations about safety, informed all Vinci employees about the defibrillator, and promoted the upcoming event. More HandS-on Program events will follow soon. You will see that during office events like Children’s Day or company picnics, program goals can be promoted creatively and engagingly.
